Caledonia Public Schools Is A Buzz With Construction Activity
Last years voter approval of a $30.5 million bond issue is turning into bricks and mortar as Lakewood ramps up multiple school projects throughout the district. According to Jerry Phillips, Superintendent of Caledonia Public Schools, the multiple projects are proceeding as planned.

Lakewood Construction is working on one of Hope Colleges oldest and most vital buildings, Graves Hall, built in 1892. The project, which will total $5.7 million, is scheduled for completion by the beginning of the spring 2010 semester.

One school a day. Thats the rate Americas schools are registering for the U.S. Green Building Councils (USGBC) LEED certification program for green schools, signaling their intent to build and operate schools that are more energy and water efficient, which will save taxpayers money. Green schools also have significantly improved indoor air quality, and that results in healthier kids.

Finishing touches on the Cityside Natatorium of Zeeland Public Schools are being completed for an August re-opening. Locker rooms have been overhauled, the area surrounding the pool has been retrofitted for new safety regulations, and the pools heating system updated to increase efficiency.
The newly renovated and expanded natatorium will provide a top-flight facility for the community education program, as well as the students.
