Lakewood Construction’s Commitment to Safety
Safety. Quite simply, it’s the right thing to do.
Yes, we want to ensure that we are complying with local, state and federal safety standards, codes and regulations. And safety does save money in the short-term as well as over the long haul. But most importantly, Lakewood Construction has a sincere desire to provide a safe and healthy work environment that is free from potential hazards.
The goal of our comprehensive safety program is to eliminate personal injury, occupational illness, equipment and property damage as well as to protect the general public.
Lakewood's safety record consistently surpasses industry standards because our company’s culture is focused on providing a safe and healthy work environment that is free from potential hazards. Lakewood Construction has earned the Associated Builders and Contractors Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Gold Level Award in each of the last 13 years.
We also work diligently to make sure our employees are trained in safety awareness and compliance. The components of Lakewood's safety program include:
• Employee training and awareness
• Subcontractor communication
• Frequent safety meetings
• Regular jobsite inspections.
The responsibility for safety at Lakewood goes beyond the Safety Manager and the Safety Committee. While their supervision and coordination of the program are critical to its success, safety at Lakewood involves every person in the company from the commitment of the president to the compliance of the laborer.
Bottom line: safety at Lakewood makes dollars and sense.
• Fewer construction accidents
• Better trained employees
• Projects run more efficiently using quality tools and equipment
• Lower Workers Compensation Insurance premiums
• Cooperation between federal, state and local regulators
• Selection of quality subcontractors
• CLIENT LIABILITY RISKS ARE REDUCED
