Celebration Weekend Opens New Resurrection Life Youth and Family Center
The doors of a new Youth and Family Center will open to members of a growing congregation and the community when Resurrection Church holds its Celebration Weekend, Oct. 4 and 5.
The Lakewood Construction project is a showcase worship facility designed to offer a safe, welcoming environment for families throughout Northern Michigan. Built on a 62-acre site, the new 33,000 sq. ft. facility includes a main worship center, a large gathering area, educational space and nurseries for the childrenís ministry, as well as a dedicated youth worship space and administrative offices for the staff.
The student areas are expandable and flexible to accommodate more than 500 students. The 11,000 sq. ft. worship center houses 550 seats with easy expansion to 750 seats, complete with state of the art sound and lighting technology. Additional features include a Christian bookstore and cafÈ with a full menu. Under the direction of Pastor Chris Moon, Resurrection Life has grown from a congregation of 16 people to ministering to more than 1,800 people a week in just five years.
"I can't say enough about the Lakewood owners; great people who really step up to the task," said Pastor Moon. "It's been a privilege to work with them. We now have a state of the art worship and teen center unlike anything in Northern Michigan. Weíre now set up to better minister to the people in the future, and we can thank Lakewood for their contribution to our continued success in this important walk of life."
