The interior is now a smoke-free work environment and there is an educational program for employees and visitors. The exterior included native/drought resistant plantings, no permanent irrigation system, and bicycle racks. Lakewood’s project involved extensive sitework to accommodate additional truck traffic, private bus and van drop-off/pick-up for employees. Storm water detention was another element within the project. Kandu partners with local, regional, and national manufacturers for cost-efficient services that, in turn, provide employment opportunities for physically and mentally challenged adults. This central facility combined the functions of the organization’s Holland and Grand Haven operations. |
