| Technical Energy Solutions, Inc. established in 1989, is a licensed mechanical, electrical and temperature controls contractor located in Byron Center, MI. Lakewood built T.E.S.'s first facility in 1999 and was called on once again in 2008 to build their current facility. T.E.S. owner Bart Bale made a decision early on that he wanted his new facility to be a show case of what his company represents along with being a sustainable project. The project is in the final stages of becoming LEED certified. The structure is a pre-engineered metal building with a second story clerestory. The building easily lends itself to sustainability as the steel structure and skin have high recycle content and the metal panel roof is highly reflective. The landscape utilizes native plantings and requires little irrigation. Natural lighting was incorporated throughout and low VOC, high recycle content products were used. The mechanical and electrical systems were designed by T.E.S. and incorporate many sustainable features to minimize energy consumptions and maximize tenant comfort. Under the stamped concrete (made to look like wood planking), at the executive offices and main entry lies radiant heat. Exterior sun shades wre utilized ot provide indirecty sun light in the spaces and minimize use of artificial lighting during the day. * 18,880 S.F. * Pre-Engineered building with 2nd story clerestory * High recycle content * Native plantings utilized for landscaping requiring minimal irrigation. |
