Bear Lake Public Schools Teams with Lakewood
Officials from Bear Lake Public Schools and the team of Lakewood Inc. (Construction Manager) and Clark, Walter, Sirrine (Architect) are pleased to announce the commencement of renovations and additions to the school.
An official groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. on site. Board members, teachers, parents, students, community leaders and representatives from the design and construction team were on hand to celebrate the passage of the project from design to construction.
The 35,000 square foot project consists of 6,500 square feet of additions to the elementary facility, with the remaining 28,500 square feet being additions to the high school. The project will add 4 classrooms to the elementary facility and 5 high school classrooms. There will also be additions to the library / media center, a new full size competition gymnasium with boys and girls locker rooms, and a new administrative area for staff.
The Bear Lake community responded to the district's facility needs by supporting this $ 4.95 million bond issue in a millage vote in June of 2000. Since that time the district has been working steadfastly to maximize the value of the project using a team approach to project delivery.
