United Manufacturing Breaks Ground
August 14, 2001 marked a special day in the history of United Manufacturing. Officials from United Manufacturing, Lakewood Inc., and the Holland Chamber of Commerce broke ground on a new facility in the northside HEDCOR Industrial Park in Holland for the three year old company.
United Manufacturing is a manufacturer of stamped components for the automotive, office furniture, heavy equipment and appliance markets. Since its inception three years ago, United Manufacturing has grown by 30 - 50% annually, and expects to meet or surpass their sales goal for this fiscal year. As a result of this growth, partners Randy Bezile and Dave Beckman, have recognized the need for new and expanded facilities to position them for the next phase of United's history.
The new facility will consist of 17,500 square feet total, broken into 2,500 square feet of offices and 15,000 square feet of manufacturing. This will allow United to have all 19 of their presses operational at the same time, give greater storage area for raw materials and finished goods, implement a parts cleaning station, as well as have a dedicated tool room, quality lab, and administrative offices. Along with the new facility, United is focused upon the acquisition of ISO and QS certifications to round out their
corporate credentials.
According to President Randy Bezile, United is now positioned to meet its five year growth plan without having facilities limit their potential. The new facility will upgrade United's image while giving expanded capacity to production. For United Manufacturing this translates into a "win-win" situation. Coupled to their Small Business Award from the State of Michigan, United Manufacturing promises to have an exciting future.
