Lakewood to Commence Construction on New Retail Project
Mr. David Dirkese of Capital Management is pleased to have released Lakewood Inc. to commence constrution of a retail project on Holland's growing north side. The new development consists of two buildings totaling 48,000 square feet and one out lot for a 5,000 square foot free standing building on approximately 8 acres at the northwest corner of Riley Street and US-31.
Phase I will commence construction in April 2002 and will be complete and ready for tenants in mid-July. The first building will be a conventionally constructed 12,000 square foot building with spaces ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 square feet. The building will feature a standing seam mansard roof providing a covered walkway between storefronts, with a combination split face block and brick veneer exterior.
Phase II will be the construction of a 36,000 square foot retail building that will begin construction in mid-May. This facility will match the first building architecturally and will also contain lease spaces of 1,500 4,000 square feet. The second phase will be ready for occupancy in September of 2002.
The final phase of the project will be complete when an outlot suitable for a 5,000 square foot building is developed. This lot will be a prime location for a bank branch, restaurant or other free standing retail enterprise desiring to be located in Riley Plaza.
Financing for the project has been arranged through Huntington National Bank, while Grubb Ellis / Focus Properties will be responsible for marketing the project.
