Lakewood Inc. Completes Another Signature Project in Downtown Holland
Officials from Lakewood Inc. are pleased to announce the completion of another signature project in downtown Holland, Michigan.
The new headquarters for The Bank of Holland is now open for business at the northwest corner of 7th Street and Central Avenue. The new 21,000 square foot facility will allow the bank to provide a greater level of service to their growing customer base as well as allowing for future internal expansion.
Since opening in 1998, the Bank of Holland has experienced tremendous growth. Beginning in a 2,400 square foot storefront on River Avenue, the locally owned bank moved to an 8,000 square foot suite in the Central Avenue Financial Center in late 1999. Plans for the newest facility were stepped up after a second year of rapid growth forced the space issue again. Design + and Lakewood Inc. were hired to provide the professional services required to design and construct a new facility for the bank.
Logistics for the project proved trying at times due to the limited site accessibility, traffic issues, and the fact that the building was constructed with zero lot line setbacks and filled 90% of the lot itself. Construction began in fall of 2001, and was completed 2 weeks ahead of the aggressive schedule required to meet the occupancy requirement of the bank.
