Plaza Center Receives Another Award
Just days after receiving an award from the Masonry Institute of Michigan, The Plaza Center office building was the recipient of the Holland Area Beautiful Award.
The facility was completed in late 2002 to accommodate the occupancy requirements of GMB Architects-Engineers. In late 2002, Warner Norcross and Judd were able to relocate their Holland offices into the 3rd floor of this facility. |

The Plaza Center has since become home to a branch of West Michigan Community Bank, Hilliard Lyons, The Curraugh Pub, as well as Velo City Cycles.
8th Street Partners LLC, the developers for the project were overwhelmed by the success of this project and anticipate moving forward with the next phase of the project. 8th Street Partners is made up of Kris DePree of Grubb Ellis / Focus Properties, who is responsible for marketing the properties, and Jim Stroop, President of Lakewood Inc., the construction firm responsible for building and maintaining the facility.
Jim Stroop stated that the timing was right for a project of this nature in Downtown Holland. We did our research and determined that the first phase of the Superblock would be well received by the business community, as well as the community at large. While this project has been the recipient of numerous awards for both design and construction, the greatest awards Kris and I receive are the comments we get from people within the Holland community regarding the contribution it has made to the downtown core.
8th Street Partners is in the preliminary stages of negotiations with prospective tenants, and hopes to break ground soon.
