Lakewood Construction Announces Commencement of PAL Project
Lakewood Construction is pleased to announce the commencement of a project for Progressive Affiliated Lumbermen, in Meadowbrook Business Park in Kentwood.
The new 15,000 square foot office building will accommodate the steady growth the distributor of building materials continues to experience. The facility will include exposed wood beams at the exterior, along with a shingled roof, masonry wainscot accent, cementitious siding and expansive windows for natural daylight.
Progressive Affiliated Lumbermen Cooperative, Inc. (PAL) is a member owned, buying group headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Established in 1937, PAL is a self-governing organization of independent lumber and building material retailers. Today PAL services more than 300 members, located in 16 states.
PAL provides a three-way partnership among the dealer, the supplier and PAL, with PAL acting as the buying agent for the dealer. PAL traders use their market contacts and expertise, plus PAL's buying power, to negotiate purchases that one dealer, acting on his own, could not obtain.
