Hospice House of Holland Breaks Ground on New 18 Bed House
May 4, 2006 marked a special day in the history of Hospice House of Holland, through the groundbreaking on their new 18 bed Hospice House care facility.
The new facility, located at Mason and 104th Avenue in southeast Holland, serves a growing need for compassionate care for people at the end of lifes journey that are unable to remain in their own home. In the past 23 years, Hospice of Holland has worked with more than 5,000 patients throughout Ottawa and Allegan Counties, as well as people in Grandville, Jenison and South Haven. The existing Hospice House, leased in 2000, has been a resource for more than 600 families. This new facility will increase the organizations ability to serve more families in need.
The building will feature 12 individual rooms and six suites, as well as gathering and dining areas, a full commercial kitchen, childrens play area, and chapel. The 17 acre site will include gardens and waterfalls, offering areas for quiet meditation in a tranquil setting.
Lakewood Construction is the Construction Manager for the project, while Design Plus is providing architectural services for the project.
